Easyscience covers section A 'Animal behaviour and Plant Responses'. This section of the course makes up about 25% of the final exam and typically has questions that are based on interpretation of data - an area many students find difficult.

Easyscience will give you excellent notes with lots of examples that will show you how to interpret data successfully. The self-marking questions and tests will give plenty of practice at this style of question. The forum allows you to ask specific questions which will be answered by a tutor.

Hello. My name is Alan Knightbridge and I wrote Easyscience for Bursary and Scholarship students. I will also be answering your questions via the forum.

I have taught Biology to year 13 for 20 years at Orewa College and Kristin School. I trained at Auckland University where I obtained an MSc with 1st class honours.

My aim for Easyscience was to produce a revision course that would help students who want to get the best possible mark in Biology that they can. The internet provides a way of delivering image-rich lessons to help explain difficult concepts. There are interactive animations and lot's of questions to check your progress. They self-mark to make feedback instant. Summary checklists and notes pages make it very clear what you need to know. In case something is not clear, there is a forum for you to ask me questions - but please don't ask me to do your homework!

Easyscience also covers section C 'Genetics and Evolution'. This section of the course makes up about 45% of the final exam and typically has questions that require considerable knowledge and the ability to apply this to new situations.

Easyscience will give you excellent notes with lots of diagrams that will prepare you for this section. The self-marking questions and tests will give plenty of practice at applying your knowledge. The forum allows you to ask specific questions which will be answered by a tutor.

Easyscience does not cover section B 'Plant and Animal Investigation'. This section of the course is used for your internal assessment and is not included in the final exam.

In 2002, easyscience will not cover section E 'Contemporary Biological Issues'. This is examined as a 500 word essay in the final exam.

Easyscience will cover section D 'Techniques and Processes in Molecular Biotechnology'.

This unit looks at the way genes are inherited and how they produce characteristics in organisms. Gene interactions are included.

This unit looks at the way genes and organisms change to produce new species.

This unit looks at the evidence for the origins of humans. It also looks at the development of early culture.

This unit looks at the techniques and processes that make up biotechnology. A wide range of processes that make use of living organisms will be studied.
